I wrote this song in 1996.  I felt then; "You Are The One" has a powerful message and it remains one of my favorites, for that reason.  This song is from a CD our old High Country Band recoded in my office/studio at the Ranch in about 2001.  Vocals include myself, Julie Miller, Helen Sargent.  Helen also does the mandolin, I do the guitars, Barbara, (my wife) on bass guitar, Terry Miller on Banjo.  This song has ministered to a lot of folks.

This song is from the High Country CD titled: “High Country’s Western Gospel”.  This song is filled with scriptural metaphors and is based on scripture references including; John 12:24, Psalms 65:10, Isaiah 32:14, Isaiah 63:1 and42:1, John 7:38 and 4:14, Psalms 65: 9-13, Ezekiel 47:, Genesis 2:10, John 15:, and others.  This song covers a lot of “spiritual” ground in a few short minutes.

The true story of the origins of this song can be found in the "teachings" page archives, on this web site. The teaching is titled: "The Pardon Me Mister Story ".  You need to know the story and I think the teaching will challenge you, as the lesson I learned challenged me.  The song was recorded by the old; "High Country" band at the ranch studio a number of years ago.

Rimrocks tells of a cowboy riding to the tops of some rimrocks in the predawn darness to brood over and pray over world governments and world conditions.  It is here that God reveals a bit of the mystery regarding God's government within us.

As Jesus hung on the cross suffering brutalities, insults and an agonizing death; creation reacted as recorded in Matthew 27:51.

With this in mind, as well as the information in Luke 19:37-40, I wrote The Rocks Cried Out. The old High Country Band and I recorded it, some years back.

The tabernacle in the wilderness, a tent, just a temporary dwelling place of God.  Our bodies are also perhaps like that tent...."the outer court is flesh and blood, but the things you can not see, are hidden in a holy place, deep inside of me"    Recordded by the old "High Country" band some years ago.

An uptempo song I wrote that speaks of the Kingdom of God within us .  "with less of me and more of Him, His glory's coming down, His Kingdom come, His will be done, right here in my hometown." 

"In that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book".....from Isaiah:    And that day did come, as Jesus, through His work on the cross, made it possible for believers to be partakers of God's divine nature and the ability to hear and understand "the book" through the work of the Holy Spirit in them.

This is a medley of worship chorus's by others, done in a Western Gospel way.

This is a fun little song, with lots of metaphors that I recorded along with Julie Milller (what a voice) and the old "High Country" band at the Ranch studio, before we sold the ranch. 

The Christian life is a new trail which we all choose of our own free will.  Once we choose, God can begin to transform us into the image of His dear Son.  It is the work of the Holy Spirit, nothing we can do but choose to give up our old life, in exchange for His unfathomable love and His new life within us.

Have you ever been out working cattle in a snow storm or a thunder storm? This song should bring back some memories.  Or a time of "winter in your soul"...perhaps? I have wondered once in awhile; "Jesus, can't you hear me calling, through the howlin' of this storm". He is always there!!

This a true story, put into song form, that happened to me years ago as I pulled into a convenience store off of the freeway.  A young man was in the store, I stood in line behind him as he... "bought a quart of wine......"
