Byrl Keith Chadwell & High Country Ministry

I was born in a Colorado mining town in the late 1930’s. I started to cowboy as a youngster, on my grandfather’s homestead on the breaks of the Burnt River in Eastern Oregon. With roots that run deep into the ranching, mining and timber history of the Northwest. I am blessed of God to have a rich and colorful rural Christian background from which I teach and write, relative to my studies of the Bible. I also write some Western Gospel songs, a little Cowboy Poetry, sing and sometimes record a few songs in my home studio.

I grew up in traditional Christian, denominational churches. In the 1970’s, my wife Barbara and I became involved in the Charismatic movement. A fresh personal relationship with Jesus launched an insatiable study of the word of God and a call to serve Him. My messages, writings and songs often transcend main stream denominational teaching and traditions.

Barbara, and I call our informal, non-traditional, non-denominational ministry; “High Country” and for many years we have taught and sang at rural gatherings, rural churches, cowboy churches and home Bible studies.

The message God has given me to take to the Church is this; “go and preach….The Kingdom of heaven is at hand”. By the grace of God, Jesus my savior and the power and revelations of the Holy Spirit, I have been empowered to do just that.
